New Kiko Haul!

Hello my lovely readers! Feels like ages since I last posted...oh wait it was! Im sorry but work experience (which was amazing) took up my first week and then catching up on all my work has basically been my second week. I am sorry but I have some time now before I go on my Gold DofE expedition.

So before I start my blog I want to tell you all about my work experience! I did a two week placement at the London Marriott Park Lane Hotel. I can truthfully say I had an amazing time and now know that I would love to work in a hotel. The people working there were so friendly and lovely to me and I just had such a good time. I was in many different sections of the hotel but my favourites were the executive lounge and AYS (At your service). I loved my time at the hotel and wished it could have been longer.

Now you know all about my time at the Marriott lets get on with the blog. I went to london with a bunch of my friends on Wednesday and of course we had to go into Kiko and of course I brought a few things which I knew you would like to see, so lets begin.

These are the items that I brought. I have changed the setting of my blogs because the natural lighting today was being a poo.

The first item is a precision lip pencil in shade 308. It is a beautiful deep pink/ red colour which applied really well to my lips. When I tried to smudge it, it held shape very well. I really liked this colour because it would work well with a lot of lipsticks that I have at home and also I like to wear a brighter lip liner with pink lipstick and it was just a very nice colour. These lip liners cost £2.80 which is a bargain for the quality that you get.

The next item is one of their Velvet Mat Lipstick in the shade 613. This brand of lipstick is probably my favourite. It applies perfectly to my lips and stays on for ages. The lipstick has a very smooth texture and the pigment is great. I have a much deeper red and now I have this mix between light pink and nude but I really like this colour because it is an everyday lipstick whereas some pinks can be too bright. This lipstick only cost £5.00 which is such a good price for the amazing quality and pigment that you get from this lipstick.

The next thing that I brought was an empty eyeshadow case. They offer a huge range of eyeshadows which come in so many different beautiful colour. This case is a really good idea because then you can kind of 'mix and match' the eyeshadows that you want. I had hoped to get the 9 piece case but they were sold out but this case only cost £2.50 which is a bargain.

The first eyeshadow I picked up was in shade 216 and it was a lovely light brown which can be used for an everyday colour. The texture of the eyeshadow was very soft and smooth and the pigment was very good. The colour did not need building up. Each eyeshadow cost £2.80.

The next eyeshadow was this beautiful ocean blue in the shade 267. Again the pigment was great and the colour didn't need any building up. The colour was very bright with a beautiful shimmer through it which made it an amazing colour.

The next shade I got was 212 which was a lovely golden/ copper colour. You cannot see this very clearly from the photo but the pigment was very bright and the colour had a shimmer through it which made the colour stand out even more.

The last shade that I brought was number 211 which is very similar to shade 212 but it had more of a red, rusty colour to it. This will be perfect for a night out because I love these types of colours.

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you enjoyed and it gave you some ideas about some new makeup items that you would like to purchase.

New Lancome Midnight Voyage

Hello my lovely readers,
I can honestly say I am so glad it is the weekend! This last week has gone very quickly but it has been very busy.
In my last blog I mentioned some news that I really wanted to share but I couldn't because it wasn't completely finished yet but this week it has been. I am doing a two week placement at the Marriott Hotel in Park Lane, London!! I AM SO EXCITED! This is the industry I want to get into in the future so this work experience is an amazing opportunity for me and I seriously cannot wait. I will hopefully have time to blog about some of it but if not I will do one after the two weeks.

Todays blog is about a new Lancome palette my dad got me while he was away on a work trip. It is a cute little travel palette with a range of eye shadows and lipglosses. It is called Midnight Voyage travel palette and it is the perfect size for a handbag.

So to start off with, I love the Lancome packaging. It is very beautiful and looks very high quality. The little palette comes with a felt pouch to keep it clean and safe from other things that may be in your bag.

The packaging itself is also very nice, just a shiny black box with the Lancome rose in the bottom right corner just giving that little added extra detail.

The palette is set out really nicely. when you first open the lid you have the 6 different eye shadows and two little application tools and then when you slide the bottom out you have the three different shades of lip gloss. There is also a very good sized mirror because sometimes in travel palettes the mirror can be very small and not useful at all.
All of the colours are very good and there is a very good range of colours for different eye looks which makes this a good palette for going anywhere. The lip glosses are also very good because the three shade go from a neutral nude colour to a lovely red.

I did some swatches of the eyeshadows to show you the true colours and they are all very similar to the colours. They are all very pigmented and are super soft to touch. I like the ratio of matte to sparkly because I am not the biggest fan of sparkle but these are very nice. The colours also blend very well. Most palettes will come with little brushes to apply the makeup but unfortunately they are not the best so I would definitely recommend bringing a eyeshadow brush especially if you want to blend the eyeshadows together.

The three shades of lip gloss are also very night. I would wear them all. They are the perfect colours for the eyeshadows because you can do a dark eye look with a light lip colour or a dark lip with a light colour eye look. The swatches on my arm are two layers of the lip gloss which really helps to get the full colour of the lip glosses. Again the applicator for the lipglosses is not very good so you could either apply it with your finger or get a lip brush.

I am definitely looking forward to using this palette more in the future. Look out for pictures on my instagram @Perfect_and_Sweetblog

Sorrento!

Hiya guys, Its been super long I know, I think i'm just crap at keeping up with blogs and i'm sorry.
For the last week I have been in Sorrento for a hospitality trip and it was amazing. The cooking classes that I did were so interesting and the views were to die for. Today's blog will be showing you the sorts of things that I got up to while we were there and some of the amazing views we were luck enough to see.

So to start the trip off, like all school trips you have to have an early morning but i've never had to get to school for 3am before, which actually wasn't as hard as it sounds because I was so excited. We all piled onto the coach and we were off.

It was a really long day of travelling but when we arrived we went for a lovely walk around the streets and it was just beautiful.

We walked down to the sea front, which was our first sights of the amazing views. The weather was quite cloudy and grey but it was still beautiful.

This little church was one of my favourite buildings. The artwork of the building was amazing and at night it got completely lit up.

We visited a little Italian market which had lots of clothes and a couple of food stalls. The sun came out and it was lovely and warm.

These are just some more amazing views from the coach as we traveled around to our different activities.

We visited an olive oil factory where they showed us their land and all their olive trees and also the different processes they have to go through to make the olive oil. We also then had a tasting of their olive oil and all the different flavors. I brought a bottle of extra virgin oil, lemon oil and my favourite, black truffle oil.

One of my most favourite experiences on the trip was getting the opportunity to climb Mount Vesuvius. This is one of the most dangerous places on earth but the views were amazing. It was super windy and freezing when we were climbing up but i'm so glad we went.

We also visited a lemoncello factory where we shown how they make lemoncello and also tried some of there homemade lemoncello. They also made chocolate and candied almonds.

Another activity we were taken too was Gnocchi making at a cookery school. This was great fun because I love this type of pasta and it tasted amazing.

We visited a local vineyard, where we had this fantastic meal and wine tasting.

We had some free time so we walked down to the local fishing part of Sorrento, where we saw them bringing in freshly caught fish and again the views were breathtaking.

Another favourite of mine was the Mozzarella factory where we were shown how it is made by hand by this extremely cute lady and then we had a tasting. We also tried there homemade jams, lemoncello and wine.

On our final day, in the evening we visited a cooking school where we made tiramisu, Italian biscuits and pizza. They also had some dancers in to show us some traditional Italian dances which was very fun. After the cooking school we went to a disco where everyone danced and had a great time which was a lovely way to finish the trip.

I hope you have enjoyed this blog and if you ever get to go to Sorrento have an amazing time, I know I did.

Thank you very much for reading, please share it would mean a lot.
